What’s something you’ve done recently at Gibraltar that makes you proud?
I worked through the restructuring of a credit facility for a client facing some unique sales fluctuations. I was able to collaborate closely with senior management to navigate the difficult conversations surrounding inventory advances during fluctuating sales periods. I’m proud of how I managed these conversations in a transparent, yet careful way aligned with GBC’s values.
What opportunities do you see for Gibraltar on the horizon?
The asset based lending industry is going through a challenging period with a high level of liquidity attributable to government support throughout the pandemic. Looking ahead, as we come out of the pandemic and continue to support our partners, I believe GBC is well equipped to take full advantage of growth opportunities as they arise.
What do you find most rewarding about working at GBC?
Gibraltar is the first place I’ve worked for that really lives its values. The culture is authentic, and the entire leadership team really makes everyone feel valued and appreciated. GBC stands behind what it claims, and this is evident in our client relationships. People are our business, and it’s continually emphasized across senior leadership that adhere to this philosophy. Relationships are the fabric of our organization, and I am eager to be part of Gibraltar’s next chapter.
How do you enjoy spending your time outside of work?
I have a ton of interests — I create a lot of things with my hands. I cook and I’m mechanically inclined, so I’ve built and remodeled my basement, including all of the electrical and the plumbing. I’m very hands on, so I like to have an understanding of how things are configured and assembled. I really enjoy those types of projects — that’s the common thread for everything I do. I always want to understand the ins and outs, and the details of things.
What are you looking forward to in 2021 and beyond?
I’m really looking forward to getting through COVID and getting back to normal. I’m looking forward to more travel, both professionally and personally, and for the world opening up more again.
