Vice President Jeremy DeBoer took a few minutes away from his day managing loans for Gibraltar Business Capital clients to tell us more about his job and himself. A native Chicagoan, he is one of Gibraltar’s account executives who sees to it every day that clients are communicating with Gibraltar about their needs and operations.

What’s your role at Gibraltar?
I manage a portfolio of loans for Gibraltar, in various industries including construction, manufacturing, wholesale and retail trade, business services and oil and gas. In my role, I work closely with our clients and work through any needs or challenges that may arise over the life of the loans. When a new deal comes in, I oversee the underwriting process, taking it through due diligence, the credit committee, and eventually to closing. I’m charged with identifying and mitigating potential risk factors.
What opportunities do you see on the horizon?
We’re growing at an aggressive pace in all areas: our portfolio of clients, our internal staff, and overall as a leading commercial finance company focused exclusively on the factoring and small to midsize asset-based marketplace. Not only are we adding clients regularly, but we’re increasing loan sizes too.
Gibraltar announced an increased credit facility earlier this year, invigorating our company’s growth and strengthening our commitment to delivering value-added lending services to small and midsized businesses. Our growth translates to more opportunities for our clients. It is a win-win.
What makes Gibraltar unique?
At Gibraltar, we believe there is no one-size-fits-all solution for our customers and we pride ourselves on providing fast and flexible solutions. Time to close is critical for our customers. In contrast to traditional lenders, we can move quickly, getting our clients to credit committee in under 30 days.

I’m an active volunteer with my neighborhood church where I am a group leader in student ministries, meeting weekly with high school students. We participate in a variety of events and enjoy an occasional retreat. I find it incredibly rewarding to work with this active and dedicated group of students. As the youngest of six, I’m very comfortable engaging with kids. I became an uncle when I was in grade school and currently have 23 nieces and nephews, ages 3 to 25. In my spare time, I enjoy using my hands to build a new piece of furniture or remodel a room in my home. I also play acoustic guitar, love craft beer, and weather permitting, I enjoy playing a round of golf.
